Who Is Personal Branding For?

Updated: Sep 2, 2022

Would you like to the long version or the short version?

How about this, we’ll start with the short version and if you feel the need to know why then you can keep on reading this post. I’ll make it easy by attaching a collapsible list you can refer to.

WHO IS IT FOR?

That's a massive list and I haven't even covered all the possible job positions but chances are that you probably saw your profession on that list and now you’re thinking: this guy just wants my business!”

Uh yeah! I would love it!

However, I would be doing you and myself a disservice if I didn’t explain why you could benefit from a personal branding session.

As you may have well noticed, long gone are the days where people left their homes and went to a store to see if it had anything good to offer or if a service was worth their time. There’s more than a 90% chance that that person, Googled your business before even showing up. Here’s the kicker though, about 40% of those who Googled you probably did a deep dive about your business. Who you are? Where have you been? Who do you like? Can I trust and relate to you

The point I’m trying to make is that having a mediocre online presence is no longer an option. In fact it may be hurting your business. In a world where people are longing for connection, being a loner isn’t profitable anymore.

"But I don’t want to give up my privacy" you say!

And I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to! With personal branding you control the narrative. You choose how much everyone can see. You can share some of the good things with your clients but save the greatest and best things for yourself and those you love the most.

Yes you can be private but you can still be a leader.

It’s no different from having a physical store. Everything is beautifully displayed at the store front but no one other than you and your employees see the empty cardboard boxes or messy desk full of invoices for your products. It’s no one’s business but your own (you like how I did that? (Pun was very much intended)

A personal brand works better with a face attached to it but you can limit how much of yourself you have to show. Instead you can focus on providing value for those who may be interested in your services. Is there something that you are privy to that can help them make a better decision? Is there a skill you feel that others can benefit from and you can share it via some form of online content?

Many people get confused with personal branding being a logo or the colors of company but those are simply the visual elements. Your business and it's core values build a reputation for your company and that's your personal brand.

I hope I was able to clarify if a personal branding photography session is for you. But if you find yourself in the list above and feel now is the time to optimize your online presence to help you stand out, feel free to get in touch via our contact form. If you come to realize that all you really need is a new business portrait and would benefit from a headshot photography session you can find more info on this page.
